This modality utilizes a combination of effleurage (long strokes), petrissage (kneading), and tapotement with pressure that can range from light to deep in order to bring about a feeling of relaxation. It is the common modality that you will receive at a spa.
Deep Tissue/NMT (Neuromuscular Therapy)
This modality is geared towards a chronic issue and tends to focus on one area or pattern of the body. It uses trigger point therapy, proprioceptive stretching and a variety of other neuromuscular techniques to bring about a release within the muscle group and a “re-training” of the relaxing length. It works on a pain scale of 1-10, with 6 being the optimal level – “It hurts so good.”
Thai Massage (Assisted Thai Yoga)
This modality involves passive and minimal active work from the client. The therapist moves the client through a prescribed set of poses and holds geared towards stretching to a deep release. – 90m sessions only
Sports Massage
This is very useful for the athletes. It involves fast massage techniques for the pre-event warm up, and slower stretching and relaxation work for the post-event cool down.
Integrated Deep Tissue Therapy*
This modality is very similar to Rolfing(TM). It involves an initial consultation involving body reading, posture analysis, emotional evaluation and goal setting. From there, the following, minimum, 10 sessions will continue to evaluate and work through holding patterns within the body, using a combination of Deep Tissue/NMT techniques, psychosomatic questioning (this is not psychotherapy), and energetic techniques. Please note, this is an auto-pay contract.
